If there's one car in the world that every driving enthusiast should own at some stage, it's the Porsche 911. The 911 is the iconic Porsche sports car for our time - first produced in 1964 and enduring strongly to this day.
Of course there are many variants and models through that period, with a matching range of prices and performance. However, every 911 offers a great drive and the same elegant styling.
This one is the convertible version of the 996, complete with matching hard top and the 3.6 litre 320bhp engine with tiptronic gearbox.
EXTERIOR: The car is finished in a metallic black (Basalt Black Metallic I believe) and the paintwork is still in great condition, it looks fantastic. The hard top blends in well, retaining the elegance of the 911 shape. The alloy wheels are in great shape and there's a rear spoiler too, which sets off the car very nicely indeed.
The hard top removes via a supplied tool and is an easy lift off for two people. The electric soft top then operates perfectly and is in excellent condition.
The hard top makes it a true all-weather, all-season car that's also perfect for those sunny summer days.
MECHANICALLY the car is in top condition too. The engine fires up straight away and runs beautifully.
The gearbox changes up and down just as it should and the handling is wonderful too.
There's a big service history with 13 stamps in the book and lots of documented receipts that include a replacement IMS bearing at 79k miles. Current mileage is 83k.
INSIDE the car is finished in the traditional grey and black Porsche colours, with black leather seats in good condition. There's an aftermarket multi media system installed, along with a carbon fibre surround - it looks neat and matches the simplicity and uncluttered nature of the interior. Although the equipment levels are simple compared to many modern vehicles, it all feels very good quality and matches the car well.
