Originally an independent racing marque featuring the famous scorpion logo, Abarth offer one of the best small performance cars around in the Fiat 500 based 595.
In many ways it echoes the driving pleasure offered by the original Mini Coopers - compact, fast, great handling and all with panache and verve.
This one is in excellent condition, is finished in white with red trim and interior and it looks great.
The engine has 2 settings - standard and sport (a dash mounted button changes between the two). Standard setting offers a satisfying drive, but switch to sport mode and the difference is really noticeable. The dash display changes in response to the change in performance and it's noticeably quicker.
In spite of it's compact nature the cockpit feels surprisingly spacious, and unlike so many modern cars it's a bright and colourful place to be, full of character.
Once on the go you also notice that the exhaust emits a distinct growl - not loud, just enough to let you know you're driving something a bit different.
The suspension is quite stiff as befits a small performance car, but it feels solid and it's a doddle to park too.
