SMALL CAR REVIEWS - CHOOSING YOUR FIRST CAR

Your first car is a big deal and don't let anyone tell you otherwise!

I remember mine from 1974 - it was a white Vauxhall Viva with red leather seats - I wish I still had it, it would be worth a fortune now!

Choosing your first car isn't an easy process for most people. It's often a choice limited by price and budget, by what your parents or friends have or recommend, by what you like the look of (or often what you don't like the look of). Do you go with your head or your heart? There are insurance costs to think about, road tax costs, maintenance, servicing and repairs.

To help you, I've compiled a series of brief reviews of the most common smaller cars that are chosen as learner or first cars. The opinions expressed are mine alone - I have no allegiance to any brand or model. I've also made a few notes on insurance and looking after your car, particularly aimed at younger and first time drivers.

I hope you'll find this information useful - please don't hesitate to email if you want more details.
